  OLGC BASKETBALL
House League for 4th & 5th Graders -
This unique OLGC program, is a ‘home’ league made up of OLGC parish players.  Both boys’ and girls’ teams are comprised of a mix of 4th and 5th graders.  All students enrolled in CCF or OLGC school are eligible to participate, providing an opportunity for the players to develop their basketball skills and sportsmanship while playing with their classmates.

The primary objectives of the OLGC House league are instruction, sportsmanship, and fun.  These objectives will be fulfilled in a positive Christian environment.  It is the responsibility of all coaches and assistant coaches to ensure that these objectives are met and the environment is maintained.  We rely on you to set an example for all.  All parents are encouraged to cheer, but not to root against the other team.

CYO League for 6th, 7th & 8th Graders - NVJCYO - GO WILDCATS!!!!

The NVJCYO Basketball league is made up of teams from various parishes in the Northern Virginia area.  Games are generally played on Saturdays and Sundays from December through the end of season tournament which concludes the first or second weekend in March.  There is a break for Christmas holidays. The games are played at parish and county gyms throughout the Northern Virginia area. Practices are usually two evenings per week and will begin in early November.  Usually, one practice is at OLGC and the other is at a county gym in the Vienna area

OLGC does not have cuts so everybody who signs up and wants to play will be placed on a team.  Typically, we have two teams per grade per gender, but if the number of boys or girls signing up to play in a grade is 28 or more, OLGC may petition the NVJCYO for a waiver to allow a third team for that grade.  The purpose of the tryouts is to facilitate allocating the players amongst the teams.

If you have any questions regarding this program, please feel free to contact me.
